About Me
Hi, I'm Jennifer!!

Born in Korea, but raised in the Great Mitten State since I was 1.5 years old, the Metro Detroit area has been my home forever. Some may complain about the snow, but I love how we get all four seasons here! If it's warm you can catch me on the freshwater beaches and if it's cold you can find me cozied up in my blanket with a historical fiction book and a matcha latte. My friends say I should be hired by the Michigan government because I am the state's greatest advocate... :)

Anyways!!! I'm currently a senior studying Business and am taking LING 115. If you want me to be honest, I took this class because it fit perfectly into my schedule. However, I ended up taking out so much more than what I had expected. I got the awesome opportunity to learn about Gullah Creole. Prior to this course, I thought Creole was a food dish because I've seen it on restaurant menus. What I didn't know was the rich history Gullah Creole had to offer -- originating from the slave trade all the way to a native population and language that still exists today-- join me on this journey of learning more about this wonderful culture, language, and identity!
